Hi there! I’m Beata. After running local group of women in tech in Poland, I relocated to Malta and was amazed by the numbers of female organizations. I got invited to participate in eSkills Malta Women in Tech focus group and we gathered every so often to make changes. Unfortunately change was not happening fast enough so I decided to take matters in my hands.
Do I have to be a Woman? Women On IT is committed to convening women in technology and startups (as well as our allies) in a vibrant and inclusive community. We work together to promote the visibility and inclusion of women and people from other backgrounds under-represented in technology. If you work to move this mission forward, we want you on our team. Nobody ‘has to be’ a woman to be in this community.
Women seeking leadership roles often report a lack of good mentors as an obstacle to their career growth. They may perceive it as difficult to find a mentor. Women may feel they are less likely to "be chosen" as a mentee by those higher in their organization. They have to ask directly for mentorship.
We cover topics from top technical trends, how technology will shape our future, career growth, so our community can grow and thrive. We’re not just creating community; we’re pushing all the sectors to be more inclusive, willing to change their working environment from male dominated to being more diverse at all levels.
